He needs YOU!

Gideon is a 15 year old student at Richland Northeast High School who is suffering from the debilitating and painful disease of Scoliosis. He is need of very expensive surgery that needs to be conducted in the upcoming months. He is the son of our dear friend Tonya Hodges, a well known individual for her continous efforts in the Hispanic community. It is our time to show them our appreciation. This is a very difficult time for this family and as community we can help.

Mother's Day Celebration this Sat. 5/8/2010

Make this Mother’s Day one to remember by taking Mom to a special Mother’s Day Celebration at Old San Juan Restaurant from 7-10 pm this Saturday night (May 8).

After each mother is greeted and given a flower, a special Mother’s Day Lobster Mofongo will available along with many other menu selections.

Drawings will be held throughout the evening with door prizes for Mom. Music will be provided by DJ Bori, with many of Mom’s favorite songs including merengue, bachatas, romantic music, salsa, and more.

No need for reservations...we can’t wait to serve you and Mom this Sat.

About Mejor Que Nah: Lt. Col. Herman Gonzalez has a way of drawing people together. Those he gathers are musicians who share his passion for Latin music. The Evans resident, who plays an instrument known as a cuatro, has led many bands during his Army career. In September and October, his group of musicians, Mejor Que Nah, played several Hispanic festivals at Fort Gordon and in Augusta.

Although the cuatro looks like a guitar, it isn't. It has a sound that personifies Latin music.
Lt. Col. Gonzalez, a self-taught musician, watched master quattro players such as Maso Rivera and imitated their techniques.

He has four miniature cuatros, the smallest of which has only one string. With them, he plays popular tunes as well as theme songs from television shows.

Last Saturday you danced the night away at our first-ever salsa night.

This Saturday we're pleased to be airing a boxing match for you to enjoy in the company of friends at Old San Juan Restaurant.

We hope you'll join us this Saturday night (November 22) at 10 pm as we air the Ricky Hatton vs Paul Malignaggi World Championship Boxing Match. The undercard match will be James Kirkland vs Brian Vera. Enjoy the match on our big plasma screen tv.

We've also posted our new and expanded menu online, for those who are able to come out before 9 pm to enjoy some savory cuisine. If you can't join us before 10, we'll still be offering Carlos' signature Sangria to celebrate the big event.

Exciting News! We've moved into a larger space to better serve you! Not to worry, though, we're just one door down from our old restaurant. The bigger space allows us more wiggle room, room for Salsa nights (join our email club to get notification of when these will be offered), and the ability to serve your favorite wine and beer selections. We've also expanded our hours to now offer you both lunch and dinner Tues - Fri (closed Sun & Mon). Come dine with us to experience the the flavorful cuisine that you love, as well as several new seafood additions to the menu. OSJ is Moving Next Door to Better Serve You

We have exciting news to share with you, our valued customer.

We are moving into a larger space to better serve you!

Not to worry, though, we're only moving next door (literally one door down, where Milano's is currently located at 110 Columbia Northeast Drive, Columbia SC 29223). You won't have to wait long before you'll be able to order your favorite OSJ dishes again...we'll only be closed a week and half (November 2 - Nov. 12) while we move our equipment and set up shop.

We wouldn't be growing if it weren't for your support. THANK YOU for being such a valued customer. We appreciate your business from the bottom of our hearts, and consider you like family.

The bigger space offers more wiggle room for parties and special events, the ability to serve the wine & beer you've asked for, better hours to serve you, a larger kitchen to serve up even more of your favorite treats, and lots of other things we'll be sharing with you as we move forward.

Stay tuned for updates on when our Expansion Celebration, and please make note that we'll be closed for the move from November 2nd - November 12th. Sorry for any inconvenience!
